Google’s own messaging application by the name of Hangout recently got a new update on the Android platform that was detected by a few users.

It is as well apparent that Google has killed off the Hangout’s 3 x 3 home screen widget. Now, Hangouts 5.0 has finally landed, bringing with it a few bug fixes as well as minor enhancements.
The latest version of Hangouts, as per Phandroid’s Derek Ross, brings improvements in the overall performance, adds a fix for broken gif images, and comes with a splash screen. There is a checkbox that’s a slightly different shade of green, which most people won’t even notice. The update comprises of a new splash screen, Google Voice support in MMS message and the new app is expected to crash a lot less.
Meanwhile, statement has noted exact improvements-a a few of that seem to be behind-the-scene solutions.

Hangouts 4.0 has not been around all too long, but today, Google is slowly starting to roll out Hangouts 5.0 for all through Google Play. Users should simply download the APK into their Android devices and go to Settings. Tap on the file you downloaded, it will then walk you through installing the APK onto your device.
