Downton Abbey is the most-watched show of Christmas Day 2015

The final ever episode of “Downton Abbey” was the most watched programme in Britain on Christmas day, bringing in a big win for broadcaster ITV.
A spokeswoman for production company Carnival Films denied the cast had any part to play in the decision to end Downton after six series, with the final episode airing on Christmas Day.
“Many people are keen fans of the TV series Downton Abbey, set in the post-Edwardian era, and they can put together a Christmas feast in the style of that period with vintage items such as dinner services and glasses, even silver candlesticks”.

Coronation Street was watched by 5.9m, and the only movie to feature within the Top 10 rated programmes of the day was Brace with 5.5 million viewers.

However, with no one show breaking the seven million barrier, viewing figures as a whole are down on previous years.
