Dineen, who had previously worked in London, relocated back to Ireland earlier this year to spend time with his parents after his tragic cancer diagnosis.

Born to Patrick and Marie Dineen of Waterfall, a village in County Cork, the Irish native transitioned from the farm to the corporate world as a senior director with FTI Consulting.
Irishman John Dineen, a financial PR, started dating the Downton Abbey star in 2013 after being introduced by a friend and she was said to be planning her “dream wedding“. In addition, she did make a request for some privacy during this hard time.
A private funeral service will take place at St. James Catholic Church on Wednesday, a source told People.
The p.r. professional was only 34 years old. He died at Marymount Hospice in Cork, Ireland just two days before Michelle’s 35th birthday.
Michelle rose to fame playing the lead female role of Lady Mary Crawley in the smash hit period drama Downton Abbey, which aired from 2010 until the final series was screened this year. And now the actress from our favourite show is living Lady Mary’s fate, having rushed home from the U.S. to be by her dying fiancé’s side.
The couple was photographed together at the Venice Film Festival, Wimbledon and at polo’s Cartier Queen’s Cup.
The brunette beauty didn’t like to comment publically on their relationship but did once praise him as being a “wonderful man”. “That’s all you need to know”, she’d said, according to the Daily Mail.
Dockery has kept her grief to herself in recent weeks.

The firm’s United Kingdom head of strategic communications, John Waples, said colleagues were deeply saddened by his death and appealed for the family to be allowed to grieve in private.
