Dozens injured in West Bank marches

Fourteen Israelis have died since mid-September in unprovoked Palestinian attacks – including more than 20 stabbings, auto assaults and several other shootings, according to the Israeli military.

In the last two months, 80 Palestinians have died in the region, including 50 involved in the continuing attacks, Israeli officials say. He was shot in the heart by Israeli forces during a protest during the morning.

Friday’s attack near Hebron was reminiscent of a similar incident in October when Palestinians shot and killed an Israeli couple in front of their four children, including a 4-months-old infant, as the family was driving in the West Bank. “People are very angry”. The execution of a man at a hospital in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron early Thursday has generated shock even among Palestinians familiar with Israel’s brutality. Paramedics arrived to find two Israelis critically injured.

Meanwhile, a series of Israeli attacks on peaceful Palestinian demonstrations injured dozens, with Palestine’s Red Crescent saying 11 people were shot with live fire as they were attending a peaceful gathering in Bireh, north of Ramallah. Reports said two Israeli settlers were killed in violent clashes in al-Khalil.

The group’s advocacy coordinator, Rafat Sub Laban, told Ma’an at the end of last month, that at least 988 Palestinians had been detained, including 578 in the occupied West Bank, 258 in East Jerusalem, and 152 in Israel. Twelve Israelis have been killed.

“They threatened us that if we put our hands down we’d be shot”.

“Only those whose names are on the army lists can enter and nobody wants to spend two hours waiting at checkpoints to get here”, he said recently as he sipped his coffee on Martyrs Street, once a bustling shopping area.

After Friday prayers in the Gaza Strip, hundreds of Palestinians threw rocks at Israeli soldiers on the border. “I saw one young guy shot in his leg. There was blood everywhere”.

“(The demolitions) are immoral, it is collective punishment and they will ignite the West Bank”, she said. “We are proud of what they did”, said Mahmoud Kussa, the brother of one of the Palestinian attackers.

“It is a clear breach of all global laws and all ethics related to hospitals”.

The current unrest was provoked when right-wing Zionist elements, backed by the security forces, began demanding access to the Al-Aqsa mosque complex, clashing with Palestinians, whose access to the mosque has been increasingly restricted.
