Dozens of Republicans say party should stop funding Trump

Some are considering endorsing Libertarian candidate Gary Johnson, but this would split the Republican vote.

Sean Spicer, the RNC’s chief strategist, denied on Twitter that Preibus threatened to reallocated resources from the presidential campaign to down-ballot races like House and Senate contests, as Time reported. Uh, he is the chairman of the Trump campaign, sort of.

And, it isn’t just CT that has Republicans scratching their heads. The campaign has not released details, but Trump typically also holds public campaign stops while in battleground states. “He just put out a tweet saying it’s untrue”. Plus, Maine awards two of its four electoral votes by congressional district, of which there are two, and Trump is very popular in one of them.

“At this stage of the campaign, Republican U.S. Senate candidates may be running against their own presidential nominee, Donald Trump, as much as they are against their Democratic opponents”, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Poll Peter A. Brown remarked.

“They want to patch up a rift that just keeps unfolding”, a source told Politico.

The imbalance in ad spending is astonishing. “Hillary Clinton has done that for decades”.

Donald Trump is urging former Republican rivals to “get over it” and support him for president. They were burying us with negative ads in swing states well before Labor Day.

Things look bad now, but anything can happen in a presidential election.

Clinton is trying to undercut the trustworthiness of rival Donald Trump. “He’s losing groups of people he can’t get back”.

Yet McConnell said it’s “stating the obvious” that neither Trump nor Clinton is “widely appealing to the American people”.

Either way, it’s clear that Rubio has a Trump problem that poses a significant threat to the Republican party. So even though his poll numbers are circling the drain, he is still drawing huge crowds to his rallies, raising millions of dollars and attracting hundreds of journalists to hang on his every word.

But the general election is quite different. Withhold support and they risk alienating GOP voters who may blame establishment turncoats if Trump loses.

An adamant Trump critic and former press aide of Rep. Newt Gingrich- Andrew Weinstein-helped organize the letter.

Trump said he’d be able to determine the day after Election Day whether the Republican Party was sufficiently helpful. That being so, it’s beyond weird that Priebus thinks he’s in a position to dictate terms to Trump at this point. Early fundraising reports were paltry, but that is no longer the case.

Several Republicans have denounced Trump and expressed their support for Clinton, and several more, such as Sen.
