Dr. Dre announces release of first album in 15 years
On Saturday, Dre confirmed the reports on his Beats 1 show The Pharmacy on Apple Music.

“I felt myself being so inspired by the movie that I started to record an album”, Dr Dre said during his radio show.
“I kept it under wraps, and now the album is finished. It’s an “inspired-by” album, it’s inspired by “Straight Outta Compton“.
Fans can expect to hear Ice Cube, Kendrick Lamar and Eminem on the soundtrack, as well as a few unannounced guests.
Eminem has worked with Dr. Dre since his “The Slim Shady LP” debut in 1999. For eight years, 2001-2008, Dr Dre spent most of his time producing hits.
The rapper said he didn’t release the earlier version of his third album, “Detox” – which never saw the light of day – because “I didn’t like it, it wasn’t good”.
From his humble upbringing, Dr. Dre went on to develop headphones and other audio products under the name Beats Electronics, which Apple bought last year for US$3.2 billion (S$4.39 billion). “I just wasn’t feeling it”.

As a producer alongside fellow member Ice Cube, Dre has been busy bringing to life the story of their battle to break away from their violent backgrounds and to earn success in a white dominated music industry.
