In an interview with Polygon, “Dragon Quest” Executive Producer Yuu Miyake said the best way to ensure that more titles from the franchise would head west would be to show that they would be supported.
Earlier today a new Dragon Quest game called Dragon Quest Builders has been confirmed for PlayStation consoles.
Square Enix has announced Dragon Quest Builders is now in development and will be released on the PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation Vita in Japan this winter. The only answer to that is to see just what people get out of this game. Business-wise, we have to think quite hard whether we’ll make that money back from localizing to North America. We will keep you posted.
The block-based art style, which can be viewed on the game’s website, is similar to Minecraft, although little is known about how the game will play. Who knows? You might have another Bravely Default surprise on your hands.
