Drake may have a winning one-up on rapper Meek Mill amid their hip-hop beef: If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late is the first 2015 release to sell over a million copies.
The music industry has been beset in recent years by falling album sales, with a growing number of fans preferring to listen only to singles or not to buy music at all.
Drake has become the first artist in 2015 to earn a platinum-selling album.
Drizzy snatched his fourth straight album to move over a milli with IYRTITL, which debuted on digital platforms before the physical release.
Oh yeah, Drake considers If You’re Reading This It’s Too Late a mixtape, and his proper album, Views From The 6, will allegedly drop this year.
Celebrating the landmark achievement, Drake posted a picture on Instagram alongside the comment: “Platinum off the tape”.

Billboard reports that, after selling 8,000 copies last week, ‘If You’re Reading This…’ has now shifted 1.007milllion units in the US. “Views up next. Thank you once again”, he wrote.
