Drake’s “Back To Back” Earns Grammy Nomination

Drake received several nods for the 58th Grammy Awards, but his most recent hit, “Hotline Bling”, was noticeably absent from the nominations.

According to music industry site Hits Daily Double, “Drake’s massive “Hotline Bling” was not submitted due to a clerical error on the part of label Cash Money”.

The single has become one of the biggest of 2015, peaking at number two on the US Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Dear readers, can you imagine the music-video potential of a real-life Adele-Drake mash-up?

During an interview with the BBC’s 1Xtra Breakfast, David recalled a mutual fan boy meeting with Drake, and the possibility of a mixtape “when the time is right”.

This makes it the first diss song in the history of the awards to be nominated.

Although Wale’s frustration and Fetty Wap not getting a Best New Artist rank high on the Grammy Awards snubs for the upcoming ceremony, the biggest omission was hands down Drake’s “Hotline Bling”.

Turns out Drake is capping off an impressive year with a Grammy nomination for the single in the category Best Rap Performance. Pop star Taylor Swift and r’n’b singer The Weeknd both have seven nominations each with the pair set to compete in the album of the year and record of the year categories.

He’ll still have a chance to bring home some Grammys in February, despite the mistake.
