While the Cleveland police gang unit has been bolstered in the last few months by additional officers and by federal agents, what police need now are solid tips that can be pursued.

Thursday’s killing is the third young child in Cleveland to die in a drive-by shooting in less than a month.

Police Chief Calvin Williams sheds tears as he discusses the recent shootings in Cleveland.

He told reporters: “Another innocent child in our city has been taken from us, by thugs out there in the streets”. There are things all over Facebook and social media, maybe even before this happened. Williams said the presumed target(s) of the gunfire remain unknown. “We want bodies in jail for the crime”.

“For the family, it’s tough”, Chief Williams continued, as he struggled to keep his emotions in check.

“We need resources in the community so we can police it ourselves”, Davis said. It’s tough. This should not be happening in our city’.

“There are too many good people dying and it must stop”, read a GoFundMe page set up for Aavielle. “We’ve got to do something about it”.

They and a male driver were sat in a parked vehicle when a sedan pulled up next to them before someone inside opened fire.

Two boys, aged three and five, were killed in drive-by shootings during September.
