“I kept calling my wife’s phone, saying it can’t be, it can’t be, but I just knew deep down inside, I just had this feeling”, said husband Joshua Chopper.

Farr said investigators are checking to see if the driver, a woman in her 40s, had a medical condition, or if the bus had a mechanical problem. The bus was one of three Adams 12 school buses that picked up Legacy students after they returned home from an out-of-state football game.

The driver the of the pickup truck and three children from the bus were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries. All of the students who were hospitalized had been released by the afternoon of September 12.

The bus driver was cited for violation of right-of-way.

Legacy High School staff, students, and parents were shaken up after the bus accident.

Police have not released any information on the cause of the crash, which occurred at 4:08 p.m.

Because of the investigation into the crash, police were asking that all airport passengers be picked up and dropped off on the west side of the DIA terminal.

Following the school bus crash, Legacy High School released a statement on their Facebook page.

Airport spokeswoman Stacey Stegman told the Denver Post that the bus carried 28 students and four adults.
