Larson won the Pure Michigan 400 at Michigan International Speedway Sunday afternoon.
Keselowski and crew chief Paul Wolfe employed a little bit of strategy on Sunday including a two tire pot stop call late in the race to stay in contention for the win. Kyle Larson pushed out win-less Ryan Newman, who now sits 15 points out of the last playoff spot.
The top nine drivers in points – Sadler, Suarez, Justin Allgaier, Ty Dillon, Brendan Gaughn, Erik Jones, Brennan Poole, Brandon Jones, Bubba Wallace – all seem to be a lock for the playoffs, so it nearly begs for another eligible first-time victor (McDowell is not competing for the Xfinity title) to pop up and make it even more interesting.

But if these guys want to contend for a championship – and I’m not beating anybody up – they have to fix their issues on pit road. I think everybody at our race shop likes that. To get a win and just haven’t done it and you’re amusing funny all hard work by everybody.

“I think this package is pretty strong”, he said. There have been 24 races run this season and a Gibbs vehicle has won 11 of them. We didn’t start the year off like we wanted.
