What’s your favorite Thanksgiving dish? In the Cincinnati area, gas prices have dropped 62 percent!

But that sunshine will have no affect on the lines that are expected to form at airports and train stations or the congestion that is bound to slow highway travel.

Almost 89 percent of those visiting family and friends out of town will go by auto, and about 8.5 percent plan to travel by air, the travel group said. “November gas prices have slid significantly lower and holiday travelers will certainly be the beneficiaries”, said Patrick DeHaan, a senior petroleum analyst with GasBuddy.

AAA MI has one more reason for holiday travelers to be thankful: Gas prices statewide have decreased by about 23 cents in the past week. “That’s the main difference between now and a year ago”.

Drivers say that just hope to see these low prices when they’re heading home.

“Oh yeah, you can always put it on something else”, Gonda said. “We are seeing very high inventories and healthy oil production”.
