Drone captures magical moment whales swim up to paddle boarder
Incredible drone footage shows a man paddle boarding right next to two whales in Esperance, Australia. During the three minute clip he captured his neighbour Dave Price peacefully paddling alongside the mammoth creatures. “I don’t think it was unsafe, the whales moved to where he was and the whole time they were very slow moving and peaceful”, he explained. Dave and Jaimen both consider that the whales were only inquisitive, and posed no threat to the paddleboarder.

The resulting video is unbelievable, showing the moment Mr Price is approached by the two whales. The serene visuals have been set against “Imagine”, John Lennon’s classic peace song, quietly bringing to our attention Jaimen’s evolved cinematic sense. The resident of Western Australia captured the footage in crisp 4K quality which he has shared on his YouTube channel.
The amateur camera man said that he used a DJI Phantom 3 drone to tape the footage. Hudson, a tetraplegic due to a motorcycle accident is able to control the drone using his thumbs and shoulder.

In an interview with Mashable, Hudson said: “It just so happened that he was out at the time, and a few people let me know there were whales on the beach and it all just went from there”.
