Drones to drop thousand of bibles in ISIS-controlled areas of Iraq
A Christian church in Sweden plans to deploy drones in parts of Iraq that are now controlled by the Islamic terrorist group ISIS.

The Livets Ord (Word of Life) organization said it will fly drones at high altitude that would drop thousands of small electronic Bibles on ISIS-controlled areas in Iraq.
The Bibles, which don’t require electricity, are about the size of pill boxes and feature a digital display.
According to Livets Ord’s website, the mission’s ambition is to convey the love of the Christian gospel to the population, living in sealed-off areas under terrorist rule, devoid of human rights.
Announcing the plan on Instagram last week, Senior Pastor Joakim Lundqvist said the church would use “military drones, three meters wide” to drop the bibles.
It said another organization in the area would be carrying out the operation, but did not name the other group.
Founded in 1983, Livets Ord is an evangelical church with similarities to the Pentecostal movement in the US. Livets Ord has also taken criticism for sending donations to Israel that were subsequently used to build settlements in the West Bank.
Mr Åkerhielm added that he felt inspired after hearing how Christians had smuggled bibles into the Soviet Union during the Cold War, and has long desired to do the same in places in need today.
The leader of Sweden’s Christian Democrat party, Ebba Busch Thor, attended one of the church’s evangelical schools. And together we try to spread that love to as many people as possible’.

Remarkably, its founders Ulf and Birgitta Ekman left the church in 2014 to convert to Roman Catholicism.
