Duo is being billed as a simpler, more reliable way to see friends and family as you talk to them.
One interesting feature that aims to set Duo apart from its rivals is Knock Knock. According to Google the app will be very well optimised making handling calls seamless and smooth no matter where you are calling from.
One of the cool features of Duo is called Knock Knock that lets you see video from the caller before answering, which might come in handy in case you want to avoid certain calls.
Tip: It is possible to block a caller on Duo, but as the app uses your phone’s contact list and not its own unique list, if you block them on Duo you will block them everywhere.
Google is to roll out its Duo video calling app worldwide over the next few days. Created to adapt to variable connectivity speeds, the application will change the resolution of the video to ensure seamless video calling.
Finally, Google says that all Duo calls are end-to-end encrypted for your privacy and security.
It was the first of two new mobile apps that Google had planned for this summer.
Google Duo is for Android what FaceTime is for Apple’s iPhone lineup. No separate account is required.

“You can start your call at home, and continue seamlessly even when you head out the door”, Uberti boasted. Android users can use “Knock Knock” directly from the lockscreen without opening Duo. Further, the company claims that the video quality will “gracefully reduce” to maintain the call. It’s supposedly available for download on the Apple App Store and Google Play, though early Tuesday it was not yet available on the app store.
