Dublin man Gary Hutch shot dead in Spain

He escaped the scene of the shooting – a sprawling complex of five-storey apartment blocks set around a pool – in a stolen BMW which was later found gutted outside a restaurant in Cabopino a 10-minute drive west towards Marbella.

Today Police in Spain are examining CCTV footage near where the Dublin criminal was fatally shot yesterday morning.

No police were carrying out door-to-door inquiries at the Spanish resort.

A LITTLE more than 24 hours had passed since Gary Hutch’s murder, but you would be forgiven for thinking nothing had happened at the apartment complex.

‘Paramedics could do nothing to revive him and he was pronounced dead at the scene’.

The Sunday World understands from sources close to the family that no one has been able to raise Hutch on his phone all day and they are frantically concerned for his life.

He started shooting in the garage before chasing his victim out into the swimming pool’. There were lots of shots, around a dozen, and then we saw him running away’.

The Irish gangs have blighted the Costa del Sol and this reporter felt a sense of nothingness as he stood where a fellow countryman man was killed – such is the contempt in which these men are held.

She added: “There was a woman living with him who I imagine was his girlfriend but she hasn’t been around of late”.

It is also believed that he was the nephew of former Irish criminal Gerry “The Monk” Hutch, who was the prime suspect in two of the biggest armed robberies in Irish history.
