RALEIGH, N.C. (AP) — Dueling demonstrations are expected Monday near North Carolina’s Capitol by supporters and opponents of a law that limits antidiscrimination policies for lesbian, gay and transgender people. But he feels deep loyalty to his North Carolina fans and is “not going to let stupidity or bigotry trump fun for my loyal fans this year”. “Our billboard is a reminder that laws such as HB2 move us backwards in the movement for equality and fundamental human rights for all”, the group said on its website.

Last week, Rock and Roll Hall of Famer Bruce Springsteen canceled his show in Greensboro in protest of the law.

The head of North Carolina’s flagship public university says the law known as HB2 is threatening the flow of private-sector money as donors and businesses are considering whether they want to continue providing funding. Rightly so, a lot of people are reacting to the stupid law. That law that requires people to go to the bathroom based on their biological sex on their birth certificate and not by the gender they identify with. Unlike McCrory, Cuomo aims to create an environment that embraces all of New York’s citizens, regardless of gender identity or sexual orientation.North Carolina is now under fire for passing what many would consider as a law institutionalizing discrimination.

As a traveling musician for 40 years, I played many shows years ago, in many states where you could go to prison for 20 years for smoking a joint.

Clergy including the leader of North Carolina’s NAACP branch also have threatened sit-ins and civil disobedience later this month if the law isn’t repealed. It was a stupid law based on stupid assumptions. The law is widely criticized for excluding legal protections from gay and transgender people. I am lucky enough to have found a job in the business of fun. “As Forrest [Gump] said, ‘Stupid is as stupid does'”.
