Duke flies four life-saving ambulance missions in first week

“I feel doing a job like this really helps me to be grounded and that’s the core of what I’m trying to become”.

His new job will involve some traumatic sights, and he said: “Nothing ever prepares you that well for what you are going to see”.

The 33-year-old royal has been back to work for almost two months after taking six-weeks off to be with his family after the birth of his daughter, and it looks like the future king is already in the full swing of things.

“The term “full-time royal role” is bandied around quite a lot, and no-one actually really knows what that means, but I think I can still manage to do my commitments and my responsibilities as well as I can”.

Standing outside on the Buckingham Palace balcony they watched a flypast of historic aircraft over the capital. Now, Prince William loves the idea of completing his mother’s dream, while simultaneously inspiring others to help out with the crisis in Africa and take children in.

He dodged questions about the possibility of a third child, saying “We’ve only just had the second one”.
