Duncan Taylor starts for Scotland against Wales

Centre Jonathan Davies will earn his 50th cap, while full-back Gareth Anscombe – a late withdrawal from the team to face Ireland due to injury – is fit enough to take his place among the replacements at the expense of Alex Cuthbert.

Wales, meanwhile, have been boosted by the news that Dan Biggar is fit to start at the Millennium Stadium.

The former South Africa centre, who won 109 caps and was a member of the 2007 World Cup-winning squad, also lauded his old sparring partner Jamie Roberts, who put in a monstrous performance in midfield with 11 hard carries and 21 thumping tackles.

Scotland lost 15-9 to England at Murrayfield in their opening game.

Gatland has again selected skipper Sam Warburton at blindside flanker, with Justin Tipuric wearing the No 7 shirt, while Scarlets props Rob Evans and Samson Lee have another opportunity to impress following a strong scrummaging performance against Ireland.

Although Wales saw their Grand Slam and Triple Crown hopes disappear with the draw in Dublin, they still appear well placed for a major title push.

But he reversed his decision in December and made himself available for selection.

“I don’t think he (Biggar) is going to be training today, but he might be able to tomorrow”.

“It was a physical game against England – both packs went at it – and they will be a challenge, especially with us having one day less recovery, so we will have to look after ourselves”.

“If you saw him after the game in a boot, on crutches and gone away for a scan and the early prognosis with that, the medics thought it would be three to five weeks”.
