Dungeon Defenders 2 Coming to PS4 Later This Month

In-development co-op RPG Dungeon Defenders II will become the first Early Access release on PS4 when the game’s pre-alpha version arrives for Sony’s console later this month. According to the Steam page, the full version was scheduled to “remain in Early Access for at least a year after its initial release on Steam”.

While Dungeon Defenders 2 is a free-to-play title, those wishing to play the pre-alpha version will need to purchase a currency bundle (price not revealed) through the PlayStation Store on September 29. Sadly Trendy doesn’t have any plans to let PC early access players transfer their progress over to PS4.

The real question is of course, should a pre-alpha game be on sale on the Playstation 4? This version of the Tower Defence game will feature two characters, controller support, and two-player local co-op.

Near the end of past year Trendy Entertainment announced that Dungeon Defenders II would be coming to PS4, and now it has been confirmed that the date for launch is September 29th. If they are going to make some profit from the game, and provide resources to add to development, then the money has to come from somewhere.
