Durant leads charge in runaway victory over Lakers
Kobe Bryant says he’s not pushing to play on the US Olympic team in Rio, but the retiring Los Angeles Lakers guard said Monday it would make a “beautiful” ending to his 20-year career.

The Lakers are paying Bryant $25 million this season and somehow squeezing revenue from it while following up last season’s heinous 21-61 record with an even worse 4-22 start.
“I only can speak for myself”.
“I would love nothing more than to be in an global environment and be around some of the other great athletes one more time”, Bryant told ESPN Radio. “Obviously the game got out of hand real early, and I just thought (the Thunder) were just in attack mode from the starting buzzer to the end”.
In his team’s most recent loss to the Rockets, Kobe threw down his first dunk of the season. He leads the Lakers in scoring at 16.7 points per game. “I can’t really explain it. I feel like I can maintain this, but it’s always a give-and-take with Father Time”. USA Basketball officials would have to choose Bryant over a younger and potentially more talented player.
Scared or not, the Lakeshow failed drastically without Kobe Bryant. “He respects the game, the past, the present, the future, he respects it all”, Durant said. He’s had an incredible career.
The Thunder, meanwhile, made it clear from the opening buzzer that they meant to bounce back from a loss at Cleveland on Thursday.
“His ability to score the ball is obviously up there with the greatest to ever play, ” James said.
But Durant became less talkative surrounding his dinner with Bryant on Friday night in Oklahoma City.
Despite that occurrence, Durant came out and scored 22 points to lead Oklahoma City to a 118-78 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers at Chesapeake Energy Arena. “That’s the type of career you want to have when you come into this league”. The Thunder went 23-59 that season and 50-32 the following year.
Wall scored 20 points in the first half and then drilled a key jumper with just over two minutes left in the game after the Hornets almost erased a 15-point deficit. Ibaka had 12 points, Adams and Morrow had 10 apiece, Dion Waiters had 11 points, and Enes Kanter had 19 points and 14 boards off the bench.
After leading for three quarters on Thursday night against the Cavaliers, the Thunder (17-9) were out dueled in the fourth quarter to snap their six game winning streak.

The two teams would meet again in the 2001 Western semis (Lakers won, 4-0), 2002 Western semis (Lakers won, 4-1), 2003 Western semis (Spurs won, 4-2), 2004 Western semis (Lakers won, 4-2), 2008 Western finals (Lakers won, 4-1), and 2013 Western first round (Spurs won, 4-0).
