Dustin Lance Black “so proud” of Tom Daley’s Olympic bronze medal

I knew how I was going to feel if we finished fourth.

“I was going to just watch the first two dives but then I thought if they have a bad dive I will switch off”, she said.

CONGRATULATIONS! OLYMPIC BRONZE @danngoodfellow & @TomDaley1994.

Tom Daley says that missing out to Germany in the European Championship provided the motivation for he and Dan Goodfellow to claim bronze in the synchronised 10m platform. “So happy for them!”

Sure, China won its third consecutive gold medal on Tuesday, but the buzz was about the color of the water in the diving pool — a murky green. The viewership peaked at 7.2 million viewers between 8pm and 10.40pm, but Team GB sadly ended up in fourth position.

He said: “I think this is great for shooting”.

Although these three nations were the ones to be presented with medals there were plenty more gravity-defying leaps made by other teams.

Both medal winners had their moment with Clare Balding, however.

However the Daily Telegraph’s decision to run a full length picture of Daley instead of the pair – who were so ecstatic at their third place they fell in the pool while celebrating – prompted outrage from Goodfellow’s mother Sharon online.

But the women’s rugby sevens side didn’t fare so well in their quest for a medal as they were beaten 33-10 in their bronze medal match with Canada.

After becoming only the third Briton ever to reach the last 16 in the Olympic table tennis competition, Paul Drinkhall was forced out of the competition after losing to Belarussian Vladimir Samsonov.

James Guy was unable to add an Olympic medal to his 200m freestyle world title, after finishing outside of the medals once again. The 20-year-old was set for a place on the podium after three lengths but was unable to hang on – eventually finishing fourth – as controversial Chinese swimmer Sun Yang took gold ahead of South Africa’s Chad le Clos.

Tom trained at the Southend Leisure and Tennis Centre, Garon Park, Eastern Avenue, Southend with Team GB for his diving in the 2012 London Olympics. “[Aisen] Chen is in the event along with Qiu Bo and those two are definitely my top rivals, but I’m ready to try and beat them”.
