Duterte has repeatedly said he would back policemen who get involved in fatal encounters with drug suspects, even as doubts are now being cast on the conduct of police operations.

“We are both professionals, the president and I…”
“You now, UN, if you can say one bad thing about me, I can give you ten (about you)”, he said, before mentioning the organisation’s “failure” to curb hunger and terrorism. “I am denying it again”, she added.
Mr Duterte said the United Nations should refund its contribution “so we can go out”. “It is effectively a license to kill”, she warned in a press release.
Concerning drug-dependency, this should be treated as a public health issue and justice systems that decriminalise drug consumption and possession for personal use as a means to improve health outcomes, ” said Dainius Puras, the UN Special Rapporteur on the right to health. “Because if you quarrel with them now and you claim sovereignty, make noise here and there, they might not just even want to talk”.
The neophyte senator also rejected reports that the house she reportedly funded for Dayan were hers but admitted that she has visited the house a couple of times.
“Here is an immoral woman, flaunting, well of course insofar as wife of the driver was concerned, (her) adultery”, he said. “It’s so foul. It’s character assassination”, she told the reporters yesterday.
But the senator said she is confident that whatever is presented by the President against her regarding illegal drugs would not hold water.
“I don’t think he could do that”, she said.
“The President operates under the presumption of regularity in the drive against drugs”, he said.
In a recent statement, Duterte stressed that the United Nations does not have any business investigating the deaths allegedly committed by policemen.
“Is that stupid body complaining about the stench there of death. But if you come here, explain or maybe hear about the happenings on criminals or see (for) yourselves”. “I never looked at that video, it’s so filthy”.
The senator said Dayan was clearly scared and agitated when he called.
The arbitration case was filed by Duterte’s predecessor.
“You (De Lima) libeled me, you slandered me”.
According to the data provided by Duterte’s administration office, the number of drug addicts in the Philippines amounts to 3.7 million.
Duterte frequently peppers his public comments with swear words – he has also called Pope Francis and the United States ambassador to Manila sons of whores – and days after his election win used typical language to criticise the UN.
