Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart linked to Jumanji reboot
The Jumanji reboot is now scheduled for release in July 2017. Variety explains working around both Hart and Johnson’s schedules is the potential deal breaker, but the outlet’s insiders tell them a deal is still moving forward.

With proven bankability, it’s no surprise that Sony feels safe with the two heading up its “reimagining” of a film so close to people’s hearts.
Johnson is now filming Baywatch and stars on the HBO series Ballers. The two actors, who are amongst the busiest in Hollywood, will soon be headlining New Line’s Central Intelligence and recently hosted the MTV Movie Awards, proving that they’ve got great chemistry together and make for a very entertaining pair. Mike Weber and Van Allsburg executive produce.
The 1995 original Jumanji had Robin Williams, Kristen Dunst, and Bonnie Hunt in it. David Alan and Bebe Neuwirth are also present as the main cast members. Jake Kasdan (Bad Teacher, Sex Tape) will direct the new movie with a script by Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinker, which took over from Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, who wrote the first draft.
The original Jumanji film was filled with action and hilarity as could be expected with Robin Williams in the lead role.

I’m already insanely pumped for Central Intelligence, a spy thriller starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Kevin Hart, but to hear that Sony is looking to grab the duo for the remake of Jumanji, I think my dreams have just been answered. Hart has demonstrated his physical comedy abilities in films like “Ride Along”. Between his Ride Along films and his new movie with Johnson, it’s clear Kevin Hart can do comedy and action films.
