Dwayne Johnson tops Forbes list of highest-paid actors
Johnson, 44, knocked Robert Downey Jr off the top spot and more than doubled his 2015 earnings, largely thanks to his action comedy Central Intelligence.

“The Forbes list really highlights the difference between being a successful actor or actress and being a ‘celebrity, ‘” Nash said.
“Want to say two things about this”, he tweeted.
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is crushing the competition as Hollywood’s highest paid actor.
The world’s highest paid actress for the year was Jennifer Lawrence who raked in $46 million, almost $20 million less than the former WWE world champ but still a nice payday nonetheless. “Waffle House on me!” Dwayne Johnson has been named the world’s highest paid actor of 2016.
The Rock, who also starred in “San Andreas” past year, barely edged out runner-up Jackie Chan, who collected $61 million over the 12-month stretch. “Iron Man” star Downey may have dropped from the No. 1 to the No. 8 spot on the list, but still made about $33 million – a payday bolstered by his latest film in the Marvel juggernaut “Captain America: Civil War”, which was his only film released in the scoring period.
Rounding out the top five on Forbes’ list is Tom Cruise ($53 million) and Johnny Depp ($48 million).
But the disparity remains evident. “For actresses in particular, there’s as much or more money to be made from advertising and endorsements as there is from acting in films, and that comes down to establishing yourself as a brand”.
Robert Downey Jr. slid down to eighth with $33 million, which ties him with Indian actor Shah Rukh Khan.

Of course, the inequality is nothing new to Lawrence. That sum was a 120% increase over his total from a year ago. “If anything, I’m sure they were commended for being fierce and tactical, while I was busy worrying about coming across as a brat and not getting my fair share”.
