The Arizona Cardinals have reportedly reached an agreement on a one-year contract with Dwight Freeney. He spent 11 seasons with the Colts before being allowed to leave via free agency after the 2012 season ended.
In 16 games with the San Diego Chargers last season, Freeney posted 10 total tackles and 3.5 sacks in a limited pass-rushing role.
“But the young guys came around”, Arians said. Arizona will likely use Freeney the same way San Diego did, which was mostly in passing situations. Golden has shown pass rush ability although he sometimes tends to lose containment.
The Cardinals travel to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Week 6. The Saints have had held training camp there, and the facilities are impressive. A backup, Demens is a core special teams player who will be hard to replace…. The worst news coming out of the Detroit game concerned injuries. But everything else was solid. Bruce Arians probably made a mistake by opening in the no-huddle – it looked terrible for two possessions – but everything else went flawlessly.
