Dynamically Styled, More Powerful and Fuel-Efficient 2016 Honda Civic Coupe
Hot on the heels of the redesigned Civic sedan’s arrival in showrooms, the 2016 Honda Civic coupe debuted at an event ahead of the 2015 Los Angeles Auto Show.

In the United States, the Civic Coupe will be offered with a 2.0-litre i-VTEC engine offering 117kW and 187Nm of torque, while higher-spec models will get a 130kW/219Nm 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine. It’s longer, lower, and wider than the last Civic coupe, which is always a good recipe for a stylish automobile. The front fascia closely echoes the sedan but everything aft of the A-pillar is unique to the coupe.
“We continue on our epic 10-generation Civic journey with the sportiest, most sophisticated and tech-savvy Civic Coupe yet”, said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president of American Honda Motor Co., Inc. and general manager of the Honda Division. The new Civic Coupe interior strikes a more premium tone with high-quality materials and high-contrast finishes. But its overall length is 5.5 shorter than the Civic sedan, and the car’s front overhang has been shortened to lend it a sportier stance.
Now, what Honda does want us to know is that the 2016 Civic Coupe will be launched officially in March 2016, boasting a sporty new chassis, a more spacious and quieter cabin and according to the Japanese manufacturer, even class-leading crash safety ratings. New standard equipment includes auto on/off headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, acoustic glass windshield, automatic climate control (dual-zone in upper trims), Electric Parking Brake with Brake Hold and Walk-Away auto door locks.
The 2.0-liter will be good for 158 HP and 138 lb-ft of torque, Honda says, and will be the only engine offered with a manual transmission: in this case, a six-speed on the entry-level vehicle, just as with the sedan. Speaking of which, the new Android OS-based interface is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay platforms, and further audio options such as Pandora, SiriusXM and HD Radio.

Optionally, the Civic Coupe can be upgraded with Honda LED headlights, a remote engine start system, a full-colour TFT centre instrument panel, and a seven-inch Display Audio touchscreen. As per the Civic sedan, the turbocharged engine is only available with a CVT which sends power to the front wheels.
