Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Link connected fan packs HEPA purification

For a few months, it has sold a fan that also purifies the air.

Nearly like the latest Pure Hot + Cool Link device which has an effectiveness of 99.97 percent of air cleaning, the Pure Cool Link cleans it with a 99.95 percent.

But, as Dyson design engineer Sean Hopkins explained to Wired, combining the heater and purifier is actually sort of genius, but also hard. The app also allows users to set air quality target levels, view air quality history and view the outdoor air quality in a location of their choice. That’s $100 more than the Pure Cool Link model, but if you’re spending $600 on a fancy fan, that probably won’t phase you. Integrating those was relatively simple, next to the broader challenge of making heating and air purification play nice together. The company then followed that up with products that heat the air, and another that purifies it. “It comes down to taking into account how do we make the most efficient use of the purifier function while maintaining the room at a certain temperature”, he said. Add to that the famous blameless design, hot or cold options and that powerful HEPA air filter to remove 99.97 percent of particles from the air, and you have one of, if not the best fan of its type on the market – well once it’s released that is.

On top of all that, the machine keeps you in the loop, sending air quality reports to the Dyson Link app for iOS or Android. It can also let you control just how clean you want your air to be, if you’d rather save your energy bill more than your lungs.
