EA Is Creating An Assassin’s Creed-Style Game

Now, thanks to EA CFO Blake Jorgensen at the UBS Technology Conference yesterday (via GameInformer), fans have a better idea of what Motive Studios is working on – and, given Raymond’s pedigree, it’s not all that surprising. “That’s the Assassin’s Creed-style games; more open world, more single-player versus multiplayer”. It’s not been an area that we’ve operated in.

Raymond left Ubisoft Toronto last October and joined EA in July to create new studio Motive.

Raymond worked at EA back in the early 2000s, serving as producer on The Sims Online, before launching the Assassin’s Creed franchise over at Ubisoft Montreal in 2007 and working on several more games in the series up to 2013.

However, EA is setting up a new studio in Montreal and Jade Raymond, who is responsible for the Assassin’s Creed series, is on board.

Besides knowing who is developing it and what genre it will be, we don’t yet know what this game will be about, let alone when we can expect it to be officially announced.

Hopefully, this won’t be another open world game where you have to reveal the map bit-by-bit by climbing towers.

Ubisoft had great success with the Assassin’s Creed franchise, and that’s something that Electronic Arts is covering.

EA are hoping to capture the genie in the bottle again with their own take on the action genre.

EA is targeting the action genre in a big way. She is incredibly talented and they are pushing her to help build new IP and promote an entirely new genre for the company.
