EA Sports UFC 2 adds Conor McGregor to its cover

UFC 194 turned out to be a nightmare for Jose Aldo who’s 10 year undefeated run came to an end in just 13 seconds courtesy of a single left hook from the new featherweight champion Conor McGregor.

In the aftermath of his stunning 13-second knockout of long-reigning champion Jose Aldo on Saturday, McGregor said he would not vacate his newly-won belt to move up a division.

While a rematch with Aldo is still in play, he could also match up with Frankie Edgar, who beat Chad Mendes on Friday. The Brazilian fighter had defended his belt seven times in the Octagon before UFC 194. “$72 million?” McGregor said in a post-fight press conference, as quoted by Bloody Elbow.

McGregor had predicted he would beat Aldo in the first round in the build-up to the fight.

The Nevada Athletic Commission has already handed out nine medical suspensions to fighters injured at the event in Las Vegas, the Irish Mirror report.

The massive pay-per-view is scheduled for July 2016, and Conor McGregor has every intention of fighting beforehand, according to his coach.

“It still is too hard to digest”, Aldo told Combate on Sunday.

The moments leading up to the fight were tense as both fighters came into the ring ready for an epic battle.

No one will know how the fight would have gone if Aldo hadn’t been caught out, no one can say how the rematch will turn out.

Conor McGregor went on to defeat Jose Aldo in thirteen seconds with a knockout punch. “But, I think it’s too soon to talk”, he said.

The 27-year-old is also arguably the biggest featherweight in the division and has a frame that’s more befitting for the lightweight class. “I will be back”. Of course, I want a rematch, I think I have that right.

“No power, just precision”, McGregor said about the punch that ended the fight. Edgar put himself in a good position to face the victor of that match, but from the looks of it, he may have to wait a bit since a rematch had always been the likely scenario.
