Eagles carved up by Lions, 45-14
The Philadelphia defense was riddled by Detroit quarterback Matt Stafford for five touchdown passes, three to wide receiver Calvin Johnson, and the Eagles were walloped 45-14 on Thanksgiving Day by the Lions at Ford Field.

Now, with the losses piling up, the Eagles will have to consider changes, but when someone pointed out that the Lions started winning games after firing three assistant coaches and two executives, Barwin didn’t like the idea.
The Lions defensive end reached double digits in sacks for this season, notching 3.5 of them Thursday in Detroit’s 45-14 win over the Eagles. This is really good news for Matthew Stafford and Calvin Johnson, who were unable to put a touchdown on the scoreboard this week. Instead, the Eagles expect to start Mark Sanchez again for the Thanksgiving football event.
Stafford completed 27 of 38 passes for 337 yards and tied a career-high with five touchdowns. But if Kelly stays, it’s pretty clear he shouldn’t have final say on personnel any longer. The Lions are a Thanksgiving tradition, and have won their last two Thanksgiving games after riding an eight-game losing streak.

Cam Newton is still ideal this season.
Philadelphia fans are the toughest in the league so their calling for the ouster of head coach Chip Kelly. But I just think it’s more to just stir up stuff. It hardly mattered as Sanchez finished 19 of 27 for 199 yards and two touchdowns – the second coming in the fourth quarter after the Eagles were down 45-7.
“You have to make some adjustments”, Lions coach Jim Caldwell said. “And when that happens, it gives you opportunities for your playmakers to do things”.
“Full effort has nothing to do with execution or how the game goes”, Jenkins said. Left tackle Jason Peters left the game on the opening drive with an ankle injury, and cornerback Nolan Carroll left in the second quarter on a cart with a broken ankle, no doubt ending his season.
“We love our dogs and cats at home, but spare little thought for the turkey lying dead on the table”, said Cat Roberts, an activist who rushed the field, in a press release. “We started getting aggressive, and that opened up a couple routes for him”. They call the NFC North the “Black and Blue” Division for a reason – there’s no love lost between these two teams or any others in the division. I just don’t see it. Taking advantage of Johnson in one-on-one coverage, Stafford threw 4- and 3-yard TD passes to Johnson in the third quarter.

“We’re attacking the defense, and not playing defense on offense”, Johnson said. Eagles quarterback Mark Sanchez was sacked six times and was unable to get his team moving down the field for much of the game. He’s completed 17 of his 25 passes for 201 yards, hooking up with three different receivers for touchdowns so far.
