Eagles control their playoff hopes in weak division

Some of the Bills didn’t have much to add after Sunday’s 23-20 loss the Eagles-like RB LeSean McCoy, who spent the week talking not-so-nice about his former coach, even reportedly hanging up on Chip Kelly when he called to chat.

McCoy rushed for only 74 yards on 20 carries, after having 59 yards on his first nine carries, including a 24-yard jaunt midway through the second quarter.

He was the first player off the field after the game, sprinting toward the locker room immediately when the clock expired and slammed his helmet into the wall.

“Hey ya’ll, I ain’t got nothing to say”, McCoy said before breaking through the media horde and heading for Buffalo’s team bus.

The Eagles (6-7) and Redskins (6-7) are tied atop the NFC East standings.

Bradford threw for 247 yards, including a 53-yard TD to Nelson Agholor.

“Things happen after games, very emotional and things like that”, the Bills’ coach said. After McCoy and the Bills went down to defeat, McCoy’s shiftiest move of the day was dodging reporters after the game. After the field goal, the Eagles’ defense stopped the Bills twice to hold on for the win.

Rather, Kelly said it was because the Bills are one of the most penalized teams in the league, and he wanted to make sure his team didn’t get caught up in retaliating.

More importantly, the Bills rushed for just 58 yards in the second half after accumulating 94 by halftime.

“We had 15 penalties”.

“I thought we were the better team today, but obviously we got beat”, he said, according to Vic Carucci of The Buffalo News. “We had two holding penalties on the same drive and came out of it with a touchdown”.

After three straight losses to losing teams, including two blowouts, the Eagles were 4-7 and fans in Philadelphia had soured on Kelly.

That might be a fair division of labor, but it isn’t what Murray expected and it certainly cements a change in team strategy that became apparent against New England. If they win out, they finish first.

Rowe now most learn to slow the game down, and get a feel for everything that opposing offenses will throw at him.

In four games Bradford played after bye – one of which was interrupted because of a concussion and a separated shoulder – he has completed 68.6 percent of his passes for 898 yards, five touchdowns, and one interception. The Eagles went 61 yards on eight plays and Darren Sproles punched it in from the 1-yard line. I thought we had too many drops that really would have extended a lot of things for us on Sunday. Bryan Braman recovered Marcus Thigpen’s fumble at the Buffalo 37.

-Cornerback Eric Rowe tweaked his ankle early in the second half, but quickly returned to the game and showed no ill-effects.

One of the Eagles defensive linemen who wreaked havoc for most of the game was DE Fletcher Cox. Bills coach Rex Ryan compared him to former Eagles Pro Bowl lineman Jerome Brown, who played for Buddy Ryan.

“You can’t run the ball every snap when it’s first-and-20”, he said. I mean… I am not saying he did it because I don’t recall him doing.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford seems to be catching his groove.

The Bills tied it at 7 when Taylor connected with Sammy Watkins on a 47-yard TD down the right side. Robert Woods was his favorite target on the day, catching five balls for 106 yards.
