Eagles Lose A Heartbreaker As Injury Bug Hits Bradford Again

Bradford suffered a concussion and a shoulder injury during Philadelphia’s Week 10 loss to the Miami Dolphins. When starting weakside linebacker Jelani Jenkins left the game with an ankle injury, the pressure was on Hewitt to perform with little to no drop off at the position.

Chris McCain knocked Sam Bradford out and Reshad Jones spoiled Mark Sanchez’s comeback bid. Everything was clicking. And in the first quarter, no less! The Eagles were driving for a potential game-winning field goal when Sanchez fumbled with 53 seconds remaining.

Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford is reportedly expected to miss this weekend’s game – and could miss next week’s game as well. These Dolphins did not only lose their previous games, they also lost big. The Eagles were 4-4.

“I feel very confident in Mark Sanchez”, Kelly said, via Paul Domowitch of the Philadelphia Daily News. His timing and command of the offense was clear in his initial action against the Dolphins, and he was able to utilize the tight-end heavy gameplan.

“Among qualified starters, he’s 29th in quarterback rating, 32nd in ESPN’s Total Quarterback Rating, and 30th in adjusted net yards per pass attempt (which dings him for the interceptions but gives him a few credit for avoiding sacks)”.

“The ball comes out fast”. The Eagles’ owner knows he has a decision to make with Kelly and his decision is going to tell us if he believes that Kelly can actually build a victor in the NFL. I don’t think we took a step back by any means when Mark went in there. And this game he didn’t play the way Jason expects himself to play, and we understand that.

Bradford and Ryan Mathews were forced out with injuries on the same series with five minutes left in the third quarter. He was a limited practice participant during the week, but couldn’t go. He was replaced again by OT Lane Johnson and OT Dennis Kelly took over Johnson’s RT spot….

Wrong side of history: The Dolphins allowed a safety for the third straight game, becoming the first team to do that since Seattle in 1980.

That figures to be the case for Ajayi, who in brief opportunity is providing glimpses of the dynamic ability that at Boise State enabled him to become the first player in major college football to gain 1,800 yards rushing and 500 yards receiving in the same season. Suh didn’t wreck the Eagles’ game plan, but he came close.

Franks booted a 22-yard field goal pulling the Dolphins within 16-6 after three plays netted one yard following first-and-goal at the 5-yard line. Candy from a baby, right?

Dolphins defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh tackles Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Sam Bradford.

RB DeMarco Murray was held to 2.8 yards per carry by the Dolphins.

And according to Les Bowen of the Philadelphia Daily News, Bradford is suffering from a Grade Two AC Joint Sprain, or as he likes to put it, a “fancy” term for a separated shoulder. Fletcher Cox was in his face all afternoon. Foles went to the Pro Bowl after a season in which he threw 27 touchdown passes and only two interceptions.

Sturgis kicked a 37-yard field goal with 10:20 left to pull the Eagles within 20-199. But I think it’s safe to say that, even though he has made strides this season, Sanchez can run the offense just as well, if not better than Bradford. When asked about wide receiver Miles Austin’s effort on that play, Kelly assigned the blame to Sanchez.
