Eagles of Death Metal Release Statement on Paris Shootings
A wave of coordinated attacks, including shootings, explosions and a hostage taking at a music concert, left more than 120 people dead throughout Paris on Friday. “I hold out hope that as many people as possible make it out ok, as well”.

The band were in Paris for the first stop of their 25-date tour of Europe and Scandinavia when the attacks occurred. But the shots kept going and going and going, and people started screaming and ducking behind the seats. The Los Angeles Times, citing someone close to the band, also reported that the band members were unharmed, but one person working with the band was killed, and another was wounded. I was trying to talk to the guy like ‘where is this thing?’ He didn’t speak any english.
“They nearly sounded like fireworks cracking off in the middle of the street”.
Several men stormed the Bataclan concert hall, firing assault rifles inside the venue, which was packed to capacity with about 1,500 people. “It’s terrible. You can’t just go into somebody’s concert and just shoot innocent people it’s ridiculous”.
Eagles of Death Metal is a blues-influenced garage rock band with California roots that has collaborated with a few of music’s biggest stars.
In a new report on NBC Philadelphia, two members of the band’s crew confirmed to a NBC News reporter that one member from EODM was killed from the terrorist attack. Since, thousands of fans have commented with differing perspectives – a few have urged U2 to still perform, as they’ll bring happiness to concert-goers in the city, while others have pleaded for the band to cancel the show, in respect of the horrific events.
“[He] said it was louder than what they were even playing”, Dorio continued. “So they you know, by the time they put two and two together they could understand that it was machine guns, multiple machine gunfire”.
Our thoughts are with the people of Paris during this tragedy.

“We are now trying to determine the safety and wherabouts of all our band and crew”, the band wrote on their Facebook page. News (via French news outlet AFP) reports that “around 100” concertgoers died inside Le Bataclan tonight, along with three terrorists.
