On Monday, the Philadelphia Eagles announced that Kansas City Chiefs offensive coordinator Doug Pederson will be their new head coach.

But while Reid took the criticism for the loss, it was actually new Eagles head coach Doug Pederson who called the plays on that drive.
The Philadelphia Eagles have officially hired Doug Pederson as their new head coach. He coached high school football in Louisiana for four years after retiring in 2004, and then joined Reid’s staff in Philadelphia, where he served two seasons as an offensive quality control coach and two seasons as the Eagles’ quarterbacks coach.
Pederson, who arrived in town Monday, replaces Chip Kelly as the Birds’ coach.
Pederson was considered the favorite ever since former Giants coach Tom Coughlin withdrew his name from consideration. Worked under coaches who knew how to do it right. “I think the nucleus of this football team is very good”. Before joining the Lions in 2009, Schwartz was the defensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans from 2001 to 2008.
With Pederson now with the Eagles, Reid said Sunday he doesn’t anticipate losing too many members of the Chiefs coaching staff to Philadelphia.
Even if we assume the worst and say Pederson was to blame for the Chiefs’ failure in this game…it’s just one game.
Pederson accepted the offer to become Philadelphia’s coach last week. The Eagles are expected to hire the former San Diego Chargers offensive coordinator.
He benched Lacy twice during the season, earlier in the year over lack of production and later in the year after Lacy missed curfew the night before the team’s December 3 game at Detroit.
Pederson prepared McNabb to take over the job later in the season and the Eagles started a string of playoff appearances the following year. (It was) hours and hours of conversations with head coaches.
“I think the last time I was up there was in 1972 when we went 17-0 to win the Super Bowl”, Shula told reporters.
Pederson likes Schwartz’s resume coming into the job. I expect the Eagles offense to falter with Reich making the calls and eventually will have a ton of injuries on the offensive line. “I knew already what we were going to do and I thought having six extra days was pretty important because as you know it’s a chaotic rushed schedule when you’re looking for a head coach”.
“Although the Chiefs aren’t complaining about it, other teams are grumbling because of the precedent it is setting”, Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk reported late Tuesday. It was time for Reid to go, but all one needs to do is look at the postseason scoreboard since Lurie moved on to Kelly in 2013.

Pederson’s limited track record as a coach is helped by a 12-year playing career. “I enjoyed sharing a quarterback room with him, and saw firsthand his knowledge of the game and his work ethic”.
