The Broncos are in need of quarterbacks after Peyton Manning retired and Brock Osweiler left in free agency to join the Texans. The Broncos’ intended role for Sanchez was not immediately made clear.

Osweiler signed a four-year, $72 million deal with Houston, where he was introduced as the Texans new quarterback Thursday. To me, $7,000 is a big difference.
Manning told Elway and Kubiak on Saturday he was retiring. Osweiler was a second-round pick of Denver in 2012 and started seven games, all in 2015, with Manning dealing with a foot injury.
And last weekend’s late-night drunken pizza shoving incident involving Osweiler in Arizona couldn’t have helped his cause.
The Broncos expect to lose unrestricted free agent Ronnie Hillman, too. He ultimately did the right thing by walking away despite being shoved hard in the back, but he shouldn’t have been in that place at that time in the first place, and he pushed a woman during the incident. As previously reported by Inquisitr, initial rumors linked the Broncos to Robert Griffin III, Colin Kaepernick, and New York Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick, who was reportedly unhappy with the low ball offer he received from his team. Mark Sanchez may have some playoff wins under his belt, but his final two years in NY and his time spent in Philadelphia have only proven that he is not a legitimate National Football League quarterback, rather, he is a career backup at best. He brings veteran leadership & will compete. If Kap wants to go there, we don’t want him in Denver.
There was no way the Eagles were going to keep Sanchez around after handing out lucrative deals to both Sam Bradford and Chase Daniel.
Now, he’ll have a chance to lay claim to the starting gig in Denver after Elway sent a conditional 2017 seventh-round pick to the Eagles in exchange for the Sanchize’s services.
For Sanchez, coming to a new team just vacated by a legendary quarterback could feel familiar, because he came to the Jets as a first-round pick in 2009, in the immediate aftermath of Brett Favre’s one season in NY. Well, Tim Tebow is now looking for a team. However, a late season benching and being placed on hold prior to Manning’s retirement may have cost the Broncos the opportunity to secure him.

The move leaves Denver with Trevor Siemian as the only quarterback on the roster, although he’s not expected to be a serious contender for a starting spot in week one.
