Eagles to Interview McAdoo
The Giants interviewed offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo for their head coaching vacancy on Tuesday and they won’t be the only team McAdoo talks to about a promotion this week. Gase, who has developed a reputation as a quarterback guru over the last few seasons thanks to his work with Peyton Manning and Jay Cutler, also has interviews set up with the Browns, Dolphins and Giants.

In his first season under McAdoo, Manning completed 63.1 percent of his passes and tossed interceptions at just a 2.3 percent clip. He was named the Saints defensive coordinator in 2012 but the New Orleans defense gave up the most yardage in National Football League history and Spagnuolo was sent packing after one year.
Of course there were extenuating circumstances in both situations.
As the two NFC East rivals try to fill their open head coach positions, they are overlapping in the pool of candidates. “He’ll have that opportunity to explain that”.
Once the Eagles sit down with McAdoo, he will be the fourth candidate to interview for the job, following Duce Staley, Pat Shurmur and Gase.
Gary Landers/AP Steve Spagnuolo returned to the Giants in 2015, leading Tom Coughlin’s defense for a second time. On one hand, looking at the numbers from this year, it appears that his defense was largely the reason the team went 6-10 and missed the playoffs, leading to the end of Coughlin’s tenure.
Bears offensive coordinator Adam Gase’s interview with the team Tuesday lasted about eight hours, according to a report from the Philadelphia Inquirer.
Philly owner Jeffrey Lurie is in NYC on Wednesday, but the interview won’t happen until Thursday. He became the Giants offensive coordinator in 2014 and quarterback Eli Manning had two of the best seasons of his career in terms of completion percentage, touchdowns and quarterback rating.

Expect the Giants to continue adding names to their list. It is not yet clear if the Saints will be willing to entertain trade offers for their coach, nor is it known how high their price will be.
