Earl Shilton’s William Bradford Academy signs off with last GCSE results day
One in seven students at the school also achieve eight or more A* and A grades.

After being placed in special measures, then joining the Midlands Academies Trust, the Earl Shilton school was the most improved in GCSE standings last August.
Penwortham Girls’ High School has maintained its excellent record of academic success with yet another set of exceptional exam results.
Outstanding individual performances included Xander Veitch, Charles Powell and Cassandra McCormack, who between them achieved twenty-four A* and six A grades.
Many pupils commented on how their Maths results exceeded their expectations something echoed by Natasha, who collected her GCSE results today, “when you actively go above expectations: Wow!”
Pupils achieved 79% A*-C grades, said Mrs. McCloskey; an increase of 10% on last year’s results, including English and Maths pupils have achieved 45%ounty, again another rise from last year.
Charlie Jolly, who achieved A grades in English, English Literature, Maths, Media and the equivalent of A* in Art and Design.
“I couldn’t have done it without the teachers, they were really helpful”.
“It’s been a hard year so I’m glad that it’s all over now. The hard work was all worthwhile and I am grateful for the support of my teachers”.
Darcey Gravett was “relieved” and “happy” with her three A*s, three As, one B and one C.
“We have had a couple of years when our maths results have interfered with the overall achievement but with the new maths team appointed this year, things have definitely changed for the better”.
