A spokeswoman for National Police Chiefs Council said: “Several police forces are investigating a series of malicious hoax communications to schools across the country today”.

The Lewiston Police Department was contacted by a citizen who received a post on social media indicating a potential bomb threat at Sacajawea Junior High, according to a news release from the Lewiston School District.
“We all rushed out, teachers everyone alike, they took this very seriously”, said senior Spencer Kay.
On Monday, school officials cleared Century Elementary School after staff received a call about a bomb threat. A bomb threat was also received back in May at Lewiston High School.
“We’re not coming to jump to the conclusion that it’s an isolated incident and exclude the possibility that they are connected, just like we aren’t going to automatically assume it was connected”, said Grand Forks Police Lieutenant Derik Zimmel. He adds that the building is being evacuated, but deferred questions as to the details of their response to the school district.
Students have been evacuated from Springwood State High School after a bomb threat.
By 3 p.m., the school was cleared as safe.

It is the second time this week that a Grand Forks school received a threat.
