Early voting kicks off for Tennessee presidential primary

Voters must have registered by February 1. Most will be spurred to the polls by the wide-open presidential primaries.

Buckley said people can either vote in the Republican primary or the Democratic primary, not both.

The deadline to register to vote in the March 15 IL primary election is Tuesday.

Montgomery County Administrator of Elections Vickie Koelman said when you come in to vote early you will need to bring a photo ID and that needs to be a Tennessee State photo ID or a federal government photo ID.

Absentee in-person voting is also underway until February 27. About one-third of ballots cast in Tennessee’s presidential primary in 2008 and 2012. They also say there is no need for the law because there’s little evidence of voter fraud; something Republicans said was their motivation to get the law passed.

The easiest way for voters to find their early voting and Election Day polling locations, view and mark sample ballots, see their elected officials, districts, and county election commission information, as well as access online election results, is through the GoVoteTN app.

However, those ballots must be received by the local office of elections by the day of the election or it will not count. Some counties also offer early voting at satellite locations. “And if you’re going to do either early voting or voting at your precinct, you have to have proper I.D. Of course, the most common is a driver’s license, Florida ID card, passport, or military I.D”.

Election Day is Tuesday, March 1. Student IDs are not accepted.

The Morgan County Election Division has designated three locations for the 2016 General Election to include the Elections Office located at 231 Ensign Street, Fort Morgan; Morgan County Fairgrounds, located at 750 Ellsworth, Brush, Colorado and the Wiggins Fire Hall, located at 701 Central Avenue, Wiggins, Colorado.
