Earnhardt hits wall, Hendrick’s struggles continue

“We’ve had a few success at those tracks this year, and coming off a good race in Charlotte where we finished in the top five only raises our expectations higher for this weekend”.

Logano echoed those same sentiments.

“Doesn’t change what we have to do”, Logano said.

It wouldn’t be a surprise to see Logano win again this week just because he can let it all fly, but I have the feeling we’re going to see Kenseth be the best on Sunday.

Harvick has trash-talked Logano at times and the two have clashed in the past, but the Team Penske driver isn’t engaging these days, nor is his vehicle owner.

While Denny Hamlin didn’t have a vehicle capable of keeping pace with those of Logano and Harvick, finishing fourth is a fine to begin what many consider the most hard of the four Chase brackets. The team simply had to do what it normally does, he said. “We still think we need to win next week”.

“I’m proud of them”.

He also visited a neighborhood where many houses and townhomes were deemed unlivable, its residents losing everything they had. Well hopefully I won’t have too many men over the wall on my next pit stop.

“It ain’t over”, Earnhardt said after his 28th-place finish at Charlotte.

Probably as nerve-racking as the Chase for the Sprint Cup championship.

Contact with Ryan Newman’s Chevrolet, a flat right front tire and several brushes with the wall eventually forced the 2003 series champion out of the race in 42nd place – with a huge mountain to climb in the next two weeks to return to championship eligibility. It put Earnhardt in a hole and he believed he ran through the same oil patch that Busch hit when he later slid into the wall. I hit the [bleeping] wall.

“Matt Kenseth has been JGR’s best driver all year, but he struggled at Charlotte”. “Then rain postponed it until Sunday”.

Logano said that just because his team defeated Harvick at Charlotte doesn’t mean the target has shifted to his back.

“You’d like to go in and get a win as soon as you can in this format, and get yourself locked in to take the pressure off”, Earnhardt said.

“Busch’s Nascar roots go back to 1978 and we’re thrilled to reconnect with these passionate fans that identify with our “Here’s to Earning It” message on a daily basis”, said Chelsea Phillips, the director of value brands at Anheuser-Busch.

At the same time, Kyle, who ended up 20th, and his crew chief Adam Stevens both complained that NASCAR’s failure to adequately clean up the oil on the single lane track was what did them in as well with abut 120 laps remaining.

Kenseth, who leads the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series with five wins this season, has performed well in his career at Kansas.

Is Kansas a must-win for Kenseth and Kyle Busch? “I kind of utilized Harvick’s strategy from Dover, because I knew if he got close enough to see my rear end, it would be bad news”. “I didn’t know if it was a sign from God or what”.

The latest win, Sunday at Charlotte Motor Speedway, was a critical and confidence-building victory. “We show up and try to do the best we can every week”.

Brad Keselowski ran third, followed by Daniel Suarez and Regan Smith. Another Sprint Cup regular, Kyle Busch, led more than half of Friday’s Xfinity race, leading 102 of 200 laps before getting caught up in a wreck with Kasey Kahne. Then we went another lap and I pitted and a bunch of other guys hit the wall.
