Keeping a dynasty seems even more challenging than creating one.

It was over three years ago.

In June of 2013, Biffle won at Michigan International Speedway — his fourth victory at the track and second in a row. That’s been his only Cup race of the year.

It’s a situation that, while good for the 23-year-old Bowman, comes with mixed feelings- not only for Earnhardt fans, but for Bowman, too. “That’s the stuff you have to fine tune and get in order”. He said earlier this month there was no timetable for his return, although he hoped it would be soon.

“Obviously, we ran a lot better than we finished, ” he said. “Maybe run a little bit higher on one end than the other to compensate if your vehicle is a little too loose or is doing something that you don’t like”.

Bowman, from Tucson, Arizona, made 71 Cup starts over the 2014 and 2015 seasons with BK Racing and Tommy Baldwin Racing. A dozen drivers have won this year, solidifying their spots in the Chase as long as they stay in the top 30. He’s now 30th and has only two top-10 finishes, but one was a win at Pocono.

NASCAR star Dale Earnhardt Jr. isn’t ready to make his return to the track.

Bowman qualified sixth Friday for this weekends race.

“I think the Hendrick engine package is strong”, Kahne said Saturday.
