Earnings per diluted ADS were RMB 2.87 ($0.43), contrast to earnings per diluted ADS of RMB 2.26 ($0.34) in the year-ago quarter, and earnings per diluted ADS of RMB 2.74 ($0.41) in the first quarter of 2016.

The results were boosted by shipments of solar modules and cells totalling 1380.8MW, of which 1229.3MW went to external customers – a 55.5% rise on the same period past year.
