East Texas animals to receive special blessing this weekend
Donation drop boxes are located at, Pet Smart, Petco, Lefebvre Veterinary Medical Center, Animal Hospital, A Cuddly Cut, Lindsay Veterinary Clinic, The Animal House, Monroe Animal Health, Cooper Veterinary Hospital and St. Francis Medical Center – Downtown, North and CHC campuses.

Blessing of the animals at 1 p.m. Sunday by Deacon Bob Mintus. The annual Blessing of the Pets made its return earlier today at St. Alphonsus Catholic School in Jackson County.

About a dozen dogs received a blessing and a pat on the head or scratch behind the ears from Pastor Greg Kintzi after a brief service on the church’s back patio on Saturday morning that was occasionally interrupted by barking. There will be keepsakes for pets.
