More than 400 pounds of chocolate eggs will be up for grabs at the 21st annual Easter Egg hunt at Firemen’s Park, Friday. There is a limit of 15 eggs per child. Adult volunteers from the Gracie Center placed candy inside the hunt’s more than 750 eggs. A random drawing will be held at 9:45 a.m. awarding bikes and helmets to the six lucky winners. Children ages 2 through sixth grade can hunt for eggs – and the coveted golden egg – and enjoy candy, games, a bounce house and pizza.
“The HUB is such a lovely inspiring community initiative to support”, said event organizer Leah Burley, “and the forest there is just flawless for a good old fashioned Easter egg hunt”. It is nondenominational and takes a faith-based approach to positively affect Mitchell County through outreach projects, community events, free counseling and various other programs.

That same day at 1 p.m., the Montpelier River Rats Canoe Club will sponsor its third annual Easter Egg Hunt at at the Montpelier Baseball Diamond.
