Eaton has 4 hits, Frazier homers; White Sox beat Twins 11-4
Byron Buxton’s trip back to Minnesota included an early morning wakeup, a flat tire on his rental auto on the way to the airport, a three-mile walk and a changed flight, followed by the need to get his vehicle out of security when he got back to the Twin Cities.

The long, tiring trip was worth it Thursday night.
Buxton homered in his return to the majors, and Trevor Plouffe continued his resurgence with a two-run shot as the Twins beat the Chicago White Sox 8-5 to end a 13-game losing streak.
“I will say that this is my best moment of this season”, Abreu said. The former Sox pitcher gave up three earned runs over six innings pitched while recording six strikeouts.
Dozier’s 35 home runs are the most by any Twins player since Josh Willingham also hit 35 in 2012. The elite prospect has been great in the minors this year but awful in the majors. He was sent back to Triple-A Rochester on August 7 after a 1-for-18 stretch saw his 2016 average dip to.193.
“We’re going to be looking for positive signs here”, Twins manager Paul Molitor said. “He’s still very young in terms of age and experience”. “But these guys on the other side, they’ve hit a lot of homers against us”. “It tastes a lot better at the end of the day when you go home and have a cold one and you knew you won”.
“For us to not be able to pull out a game when they score (11) runs, and they put up (seven) for you as a starter in five innings, for you not to make it through five or six and then put the bullpen in that situation, you don’t feel real good about it”, Albers said.
“I mean disappointing with the homers, especially early”, Quintana said. “It was a bad night for me”.
Jose Abreu hit a pair of three-run homers and finished with a career-high seven RBIs as the White Sox salvaged a four-game series split with their Central Division rivals. “But it’s still, we have more games to play”.
But the normally sure-handed third baseman one-hopped a throw that Jose Abreu couldn’t handle at first allowing a run to score and the inning to continue. Minnesota are 5-17 in their last 22 games on grass and are 6-20 in their last 26 overall while the over is 40-16-2 in their last 58 home games.
“I’m not going to tell you what was going through my mind”, Ventura said of Minnesota’s threat in the 12th.
“He’s swinging it, this is what you really expect out of him”, Ventura said.
Shields was charged with five runs after giving up four walks and five hits. The left-hander cruised through this one after allowing a leadoff home run to Adam Eaton.
Buxton was Minnesota’s lone call-up on Thursday with rosters expanding in September. But Ranaudo is 0-1 with a 9.12 ERA in five starts. Dozier, Buxton and Sano each hit home runs in the final two games of the series.
Juan Minaya (1-0) earned his first major league win. Minaya pitched a scoreless inning. Smith lined out to center in his first at-bat.
White Sox: Rookie SS Tim Anderson returned to the lineup after a day off for a bruised right calf muscle.
“Anderson was injured in the first inning of Thursday”s loss after he was hit by Cabrera”s line-drive single to right field while at first base.

Berrios was called up from Triple-A to start. The right-hander has allowed 30 earned runs in 39 2/3 innings over his past seven starts, including an August 17 complete game in Atlanta where Gibson allowed three earned runs.
