Banerjee on Thursday went all guns blazing against the Commission which show-caused her for violation of the model code of conduct.

Ms. Banerjee reportedly did not take kindly to the show-cause notice issued to her and showed her anger towards the EC for acting this way. “A political vendetta is on against a particular party”, she said.
Indicating understanding between Modi and Mamata, Sonia said, “When BJP government gets into a trouble in Parliament, TMC helps it and in return Narendra Modi turns a blind eye to anti-people policies of Mamata Banerjee”, she said. Meanwhile, hitting out at ECI’s show cause notice, Mamata Banerjee said in a public meeting in Birbhum district, “Whatever I said is correct”.
“I will take replies inch by inch against the canards and disinformation spread against me”. It is the first time that a chief minister of Bengal has been issued a show-cause notice by the Election Commission.
Turning to Malda, famous for its mangoes, Gandhi said the state government did not give the right price to mango growers previous year. If you call my party “thief”, then I will definitely seek an answer.
In apparent reference to the EC, she said, “They want to transfer my police officers as well as me”. She said that despite having a woman chief minister, West Bengal topped in the number of atrocities against women.

Angered by the spectre of action against Mr Mondal, Ms Banerjee asked why he should be arrested.
