Ed Sheeran makes Spotify history with hit Thinking Out Loud
Ed Sheeran added to his ever-growing list of accomplishments when his song Thinking Out Loud became the first song to be streamed half a billion times on Spotify earlier today. Overall, “Thinking Out Loud” was the third most popular wedding song, following “All of Me” by John Legend and Bruno Mars’ “Marry You”.

Spotify also created a “Sheerio” (the nickname for hardcore fans) map, which shows where people listen to his music the most.
Ed Sheeran has broken yet another streaming record with his song ‘Thinking Out Loud’.

According to Spotify’s own publicly-stated per-stream rate of $0.007 – the approximate amount it pays out to music business rightsholders – that means it’s generated $3.5m for the music business, including Sheeran’s label at Atlantic/Warner and his publisher Sony/ATV.
