Ed Sheeran supports Taylor Swift in her feud with Nicki Minaj
Ed Sheeran has spoken out about his views on the Taylor Swift and Nicki Minaj back-and-forth regarding 2015 MTV VMA nominations. Recently, the “Tenerife Crooner” came to his pal’s defense. “She did not nominate herself for the awards”.

In fact, the 24-year-old is nominated for a total of six VMAs – including the controversial Video Of The Year award. He also thought that when Taylor made a good video and people thought it was good. But Ed Sheeran is for Taylor’s. “Her point is that you have to be skinny and white to get a video of the year nomination, but Beyoncé’s 7/11 is in there and that is celebrating the female figure in every form”, the singer added.
The “Blank Space” hitmaker, on the other hand, wasted no time and responded right away to the “Barbershop” star.
The “Don’t” singer joins a long list of celebrities who’ve gotten involved in the feud, which started after Nicki put the VMAs on blast, and Taylor was disappointed that Nicki was “pitting women against each other”.
Taylor’s tweet was criticized by numerous media outlets for taking Nicki’s racism argument and making it about herself.
This led to speculations that she was pertaining to Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” music video that featured various stars and models such as Karlie Kloss, Gigi Hadid, and Selena Gomez.
Kim Kardashian, 34, NeNe Leakes, 47, Aaron Paul, 35, and Piers Morgan, 50, have all put their two cents in on the Taylor-Nicki Twitter rift.
Nicki Minaj’s tweet was simply addressing an issue about the “lack of recognition for minority artists”, as explained by Minaj.
Earlier this week Minaj said the lack of a Video of the Year nomination for “Anaconda” was the latest instance of pop culture ignoring the contributions of black women.
